Speaker: Virginie MAILLARD, Vice President Research, Renault
Since 2014, Virginie Maillard has been Vice President of the research division for Renault group, within the Alliance Renault-Nissan in Guyancourt Technocentre, France. She was also appointed as responsible for the research strategy for Renault group.
Virginie Maillard graduated as an engineer in Mechanical Engineering from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées in Lyon (INSA Lyon), France. During her 20-year career in Renault engineering, she has performed and led different positions in vehicle development and research. In 1993, she began as Mechanical Engineer in body equipment division, and switched to research engineer position, project and team management in the Acoustics research team from 1999 to 2008. Then she was appointed general manager of durability test and validation for body equipment in Lardy test center. From 2009 to 2013, she led the development division of car opening systems where she deployed a system engineering based organization.
In 2015, Virginie Maillard was awarded as Rising Star by the Automotive News Europe newspaper.
